Near Roussillon, in the Provence, you can find landscapes that are reminiscent of the American midwest. The same colours dominate the landscape: red, orange, and yellow sandstone. In some parts of this valley you can imagine you are walking on Mars. The ochre from this area is used to make pigments for the paint industry.
