This picture was taken during a walk in Froggatt Wood in the Peak District. At this time of year (end of April) the trees are not in leaf yet, so there is plenty of light to photograph the many stones lying around and bring out the bright green colours of the moss growing on them.
Seeing this old mill stone made me wonder how long it had been there and where it was originally used. There was no obvious evidence of an old mill nearby, but there are plenty of streams in the wood, so many opportunities to harness the power of the water.
